Welcome to Team B.E.A.R.

Team B.E.A.R. (Bears Engaged Against Retovirus) is a group of cyclists and supporters that raise funds for the fight against HIV/AIDS principally through our participation in
AIDS/LifeCycle, a week-long ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles in June every year.

The primary purpose of this team is to create an atmosphere of support as we train to participate in AIDS/LifeCycle. AIDS/LifeCycle is a fundraising cycling event produced by both the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the L. A. Gay and Lesbian Center. Proceeds from this event help to fund the HIV programs of these two agencies.

In addition to raising our collective funds, we also face the physical challenge of the ride itself. We train over the course of six or more months to meet the challenge of this ride. Team B.E.A.R. - SF seeks to support its members and to help them face these challenges.

The Team is made up of members from the entire community, including bears and bear supporters. We will particpate in the ride in many roles. We are cyclists, we are roadies, and we are supporters of the events. Use Team B.E.A.R. as your foundation from which to launch your training and fundraising programs. Use our discussion forum and e-mails list to exchange ideas. Let's all pitch in to make this group work. Finally, let's have some fun while we prepare for next June.
